Physiological Psychology.....

I really shouldn't have to say anything else. I know my goal is to become a psychologist, but since when does that automatically mean I want to be a neuroscientist...or a psychopharmacologist? Yeah, I have no idea either! I studied and studied and studied for my test in Dr. Warnick's Physiological Psychology class, which was 3 essays (that have at least 5 questions in them) and 5 short answers...:/
I mean I had to know that the synthetic pathway for Dopamine is as follows:
Tyrosine is modified by Tyrosine hydroxylase, which creates L-DOPA
L-DOPA is modified by DOPA decarboxylase, which creats Dopamine
Oh and for Seretonin:
Tryptophan is modified by Tryptophan hydroxylase, which creates 5-hydroxytryptophan
5-hydroxytryptophan is modified by 5-hydroxytryptophan decarboxylase to create 5-HT, or Seretonin
I mean seriously? Tell me you didn't fall asleep right then? Well if not you surely will here:

Question: Describe one metabotropic receptor signaling pathway.

Answer: A neurotransmitter binds to a receptor, which activates G-protein; G-protein then activates adenal cyclase which activates ATP; ATP converted to cAMP, which activates protein kinases; protein kinases opens the ion channels

Needless to say (being that I didn't have to look those up) I pretty much aced the thing...i think!

And now Kyle is studying his little hiney off for a Music Theory II test, oddly enough, in my bathroom. Oh yea... and in his boxers? Lol.

Oh wow, that stuff was confusing! I'm sorry you had to learn all of that, but it seems like you did learn it so good! :)
