We've Missed a Lot...

...my blog and I that is. I've seriously slacked off. My goal of keeping up with this whole blogging thing, especially in order to keep in touch with friends, has proven a major fail.

So let's catch up! Here's what you've missed:

A little rearanging of the dormatory

LOTS of coffee at work...
Mental ill people love their caffeine.

Crafts at work :-)

Snow Days!

I will try to do better. Please forgive me.

eco-UNfriendly

Don't get me wrong. I love the caf...

most of the time. But all week long they have forced us into eating on this! (see picture below)

Just think about it. Thousands of people 2-3 times a day!

Lately...

Artsy.
My psychology professor called me that last night at our PsiChi/Behavioral Science club meeting as I was writing, cutting, and pasting things on our presentation board. I couldn't have been more flattered. I've been into crafty things lately...& I love it :-)

The first Valentine's Day card I've made so far!
(Some of you will see these again...hint hint)

Paintings I did last weekend at work.

Nueva

New Years Resolutions. They usually freak me out, and not just a little. I've always considered myself someone that is perfectly alright with commitments, but for some reason I can never think of anything I would be the slightest bit okay with devoting my time & effort toward doing for an entire year. Maybe because anyone I've ever known or heard of attempting to commit........FAIL. (not very inspiring)

For some unknown reason, this year is quite different. I'm kind of making this resolution thing my own...my list of potential fails contains items I just want to do before this year is over.

I actually have a list...yeah, not just 1 commitment, but a list of commitments.

Complete the one year Bible study outlined in my Bible with my boyfriend

   Write a song.
Add some amazing decor to a pair of flats (ribbon, pearls, flowers...).
Paint a masterpiece.
Throw a killer kitchen shower for Marla.
Save money :-/

I would love to hear what you're determined to accomplish!

Wish me luck*

Beginning

Friday January 14 at 6:00 a.m. we boarded the vans in destination of Panama City Beach, Florida.
Too many stops and 14+ hours later we arrived. We were in awe of the 12 story condo ahead of us. It was ours for 3 nights. It was heavenly!

It was named Gulf Coast Getaway and they couldn't have named it any better...it was definitely a getaway. A getaway from a lot of negative that we don't even realize surrounds us in our every day lives. It was incredible to:
Get up.
Worship God.
Eat lunch with friends (at great restaurants).
Read on the beach.
Take much needed naps.
Go to dinner (still at great restaurants).
Worship God some more.
Stay up way too late talking to and getting to know girls you normally wouldn't even be staying the night with.
My loving boyfriend and I got closer to each other by first getting closer to God, and I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to be a part of last weekend.

Let's Start Talking

Africa. Asia. Central America. Russia. Brazil. Europe.

That is a tough choice. It is also a choice that I, as well as other team members, will be facing at the beginning of next semester. Yep. Let's Start Talking is a mission that is available through the CCSC at Tech. It is 3 to 6 weeks long depending on what you desire and it costs $3500. Most trips are May through June, while others are in July. 3500seems like a huge number when talking about money, but there are so many fundraising opportunities that only one individual has ever had to put forth a small amount of their own funds. There are sites on nearly every continent.

This mission is one that does both, teaches the Bible and community work. The main point/focus of the mission is to teach citizens English through the Bible by having planned lessons with them, either one on one or in a group. I feel so drawn to this mission! Of course I am planning to pray about it in order to make sure that it's for me. I would also love to have my best friends pray about it. Pray that I see and understand if God wants me to go or not and if so, which location would be best for me and fellow teammates, or better put which location needs our ATU team the most.

If you're interested in joining a team or anything about LST at all, there's a website! http://www.lstu.org/ :-)
